Dear Marlins: This just in from California…
Our own Marlin, Dillon Connolly, was in a surfing accident in California sustaining an injury to his neck. We do not know the extent of his injury. But please keep him and his family in your best thoughts and prayers.
You can click on this link to a CaringBridge site that has been set up for him and for all who wish to offer encouragement and wish to get updates on Dillon’s progress. Click HERE, log in if you have a CaringBridge account, or simply give them your name and email address so as to access Dillon’s page.
Be well Dillon! Many thoughts and prayers are on the way!
Heads up! The Marlins kick off the beginning of the year and mark a first training cycle with the Marlins Team meet: this Saturday, Sept. 13 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Aquatic Center.
Please sign up at practice the next two days; let your coaches know that you will be there. (And thank you for those who already have notified us!)
The meet will feature some fast relays, mixed-relays, a lot of 50’s, and no DQs!
New Marlins will want to pick up their team caps and shirts! Come cheer on your Marlins–new Marlins and continuing! And… Just because it’s a “fun” meet doesn’t mean it’s not going to be Marlin fast!
See you this Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Mountain View Aquatic Center.
Go Marlins Go!

Check Out Banquet Videos!
In case you missed it at our recent awards banquet, here are links to the two motivational videos that were presented.
Bob Bowman, swim coach for Michael Phelps, gave a talk on the 6 characteristics of a champion–qualities he has observed among the great swimmers he and his program have produced. Check it out. Bob Bowman talk, “Characteristics of Champions” click HERE
“Rise and Swim” (or “Welcome to the Grind”) Every early morning swimmer will identify with this video–but by 6am Marlins are already in the pool, not deciding whether to “snooze” through and sleep. Click HERE

Did you know that the Marlins have been awarded a 2014 Silver Medal Club Award by USA Swimming in their National Club of Excellence program? Yes we have Marlins, yes we have!
This award entitles our team to the designation as a “Silver Medal Club.” We can use this designation and Club Excellence logo in all our communications. We will receive a “Silver Medal Club” banner and we have the opportunity to apply for a grant to enrich our Marlins program. So congratulations Marlins; Club of Excellence!
