Dillon Connolly Accident…

beliefartworkDear Marlins: This just in from California…

Our own Marlin, Dillon Connolly, was in a surfing accident in California sustaining an injury to his neck.  We do not know the extent of his injury.  But please keep him and his family in your best thoughts and prayers.

You can click on this link to a CaringBridge site that has been set up for him and for all who wish to offer encouragement and wish to get updates on Dillon’s progress.  Click HERE, log in if you have a CaringBridge account, or simply give them your name and email address so as to access Dillon’s page.

Be well Dillon!  Many thoughts and prayers are on the way!

This just in…  Nicole Prendes, high school All American Academic.

We just received word from the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America that Marlins senior, Lassiter High swim team member, Nicole Prendes, was inducted onto the All American Academic Team for 2013-2014.

342,786 high school students in 15,623 high school aquatics teams participate in this program of academic and athletic achievement.  Only 2% of applicants are recognized as All American Academics by NISCA.  So congratulations Nicole–swimmer and scholar!

“Rise and Swim” (or “Welcome to the Grind”)  Every early morning swimmer will identify with this video–but by 6am Marlins are already in the pool, not deciding whether to “snooze” through and sleep.   Click HERE
